This programmatic framework, and the concepts and practices within, creates the invitation to step into a new relationship with self and others through the clearing and transformation of pain and suffering across time and species.
WHY ANCIENT EVEN-INGS?
At first glance, these two words may feel challenging for us to connect to relative to the treatment of PTSD, generational healing and childhood attachment trauma. However, in creating the healing system as an offering within the CRM® Foundation, the deeper meanings and feelings evoked by these concepts felt impossible to ignore or discard. Hence, the “name” has stuck, and it is our hope that the words themselves will awaken an honoring of the beautiful and powerful hopes and dreams within humans, horses and our ancestors and the capacity to create with love when fear is no longer present.
Ancient:
That which is ancient relates to the times when there was harmony between mind-body-spirit-nature as well as a deep knowing of the truth, that humans have the creative power to manifest their reality. The CRM® EQUUS healing process requires a partnership with horses that is reflective of the rich lineage of the ancient, reciprocal relationship between both humans and horses as healers. Remembering, honoring and restoring ancient wisdoms, heritages, truths and re-Sources supports the therapeutic journey as well as the outcome of that journey.
Even-Ings:
An authentic transcendence of opposites rather than the balancing of opposites. The powerful process of finding and manifesting the inner harmony between: intellect and intuition; fear and love; victim and perpetrator; separation and wholeness; polarities and a continuum; Indigenous and modern; service to self and service to others; and true friendship between humans and horses. The CRM® EQUUS and even-ing processes encourage creation in alignment with wholeness, expansion and the connection between our personal “inner workings” and the “outer workings” of universal intelligence.
THE FOUR PILLARS OF THE ANCIENT EVEN-INGS HEALING PROGRAM
1) Generational / Ancestral Influences
The ability to access generational/ancestral influences which are associated with our wounds and our strengths is paramount for deep trauma healing work to be accomplished successfully; and for those gains to be maintained. The wisdom and practice of the CRM® EQUUS healing model honors and partners with the ancestors of the client, the horses, and the energies of the land itself.
Within the Ancient Even-ings program, which utilizes CRM® EQUUS model, we consider this multi-faceted reverence to be paramount in providing the essential support and permanence in repairing the human and equine mind-body-spirit.
Within this healing model, we are not only clearing and transforming the traumatic wounds which humans and horses have inherited but also catalyzing the remembering and utilization of the powerful ancestral resources, skills and characteristics which have been buried and forgotten within us. We work toward restoring trust in the self and the courage to manifest a world and a self that is in harmony with the whole of all that is.
2) Sovereign Horsepower
Free-roaming horses who are under no human pressure to perform, empower us to see and know the essence of who we really are. The powerful energy field of their huge hearts bring out and connect to our authentic self.
It is a natural process within the human condition to hide or deny our true self including our “shadows," and limits our capacity to live and to love fully. The unconditional love from horses meets us, without judgement, melting our facades and defenses which are rooted in trauma, fear and separation. Horses and their healing abilities work in tandem with the facet of CRM® that gently finds the fragmented parts of ourselves that wounds and pain have created.
The ability of horses to tune in and connect with humans creates the invitation to work compassionately through fears of encountering our wholeness and authenticity without judgement.
3) Honoring Wholeness
Every living being is and always has been whole, regardless of traumatic experiences that appear to have irreparably shattered our hearts and minds. The goal of the Ancient Even-ings program is to provide the brain and body-based safety that allows for a transformation while facing the deepest, most buried pain that one spends their entire life trying to avoid. While other programs promote the belief that trauma creates a return of wholeness, The Even-ings program is founded on the perspective that our wholeness has been there all along, waiting to be remembered and lived fully.
Through the Ancient Even-ings program and CRM® EQUUS, we call forth a positive healthy vision for individuals, groups, and the collective; facilitating the actualization of a perfectly restored experience of all that we are and all that we are inextricably connected to.
4) Expertise
Lisa Schwarz, the developer of CRM® EQUUS and the Ancient Even-ings program, is a lifelong student of authentic teachers across the globe, associating with a variety of paradigms within which to work. She has close to four decades of experience as a healer and a teacher herself, linking an array of ancient and modern practices to transform trauma into growth and joy. She has worked across species in rehabilitating horses, birds of prey and other rescue animals in addition to an extensive career in developing new methods for treating trauma and dissociation in humans.
The CRM® Foundation staff, clinicians, Board of Directors and the support personnel “on the ground” are all experts in their fields. Together, we have hundreds of years of experience in honoring and facilitating harmony and wholeness across the spectrum of living beings, within and between all.
